"Sell your possessions and give to charity; make yourselves money belts which do not wear out, an unfailing treasure in heaven, where no thief comes near nor moth destroys.” - Luke 12:33
Since opening in 1962, Kansas Christian Home (KCH) has been dedicated to providing professional, caring services to aging adults. To do this, we were established as – and continue to be - a 501(c)(3) organization. Donations to KCH are tax deductible within IRS limitations.
It is true that the demand for services continues to grow. Currently, 70% of our residents are on Medicaid, which only pays about 65% of the cost of care. It is also true that without the generosity and commitment of our donors, KCH could not provide the level of care each resident now enjoys. We appreciate every dollar that comes in from generous donors, like you, and feel we are doing truly doing the Lord’s work when we put it to good use.
Every year, gifts to the Legacy of John - totaling more than $200,000 - are used to provide the highest levels of care and improve lives of the residents. All gifts to the Legacy of John benefit residents of KCH in a number of ways, and can be used to secure future improvements as well.
For us, giving excellent care includes providing for the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health of each resident. In the last few years, Legacy of John gifts have made it possible to purchase a new bus to transport residents to various activities and outings, kitchen updates for expanded dining options for residents, and other specialized equipment for the specific needs of our residents here at KCH.
It has also helped update the Care Center, apartment complex, and independent living homes. The Legacy of John also underwrites the cost of Tilsley Manor, where ministers, missionaries, and church workers - under certain financial guidelines - can live independently at reduced costs.
